Five decades of GSI superheavy element discoveries and chemical investigation

چکیده
Abstract Superheavy element research has been a strong pillar of the program at GSI Darmstadt since its foundation. Six new elements were discovered along with many isotopes. Initial results on chemical properties heaviest obtained that allowed for comparing their behavior lighter homologs and theoretical predictions. Main achievements past five decades superheavy are described an outlook into future in Darmstadt.

Five decades of decline in sharks of Iran
Shark stocks in Iranian water of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman are declining sharply. Although fishing and heavy fines have been banned by the organizations in charge of fishing for these fish, bycatch in some fishing methods, including Neritic and oceanic Gillnet, trawl fish and shrimp, long loine and trolling, still catch sharks. Slowly In this study, during a period of 10 years from 2010...

Superheavy element flerovium (element 114) is a volatile metal.
The electron shell structure of superheavy elements, i.e., elements with atomic number Z ≥ 104, is influenced by strong relativistic effects caused by the high Z. Early atomic calculations on element 112 (copernicium, Cn) and element 114 (flerovium, Fl) having closed and quasi-closed electron shell configurations of 6d(10)7s(2) and 6d(10)7s(2)7p1/2(2), respectively, predicted them to be noble-g...
متن کاملSuperheavy-element spectroscopy: Correlations along element 115 decay chains
Following a brief summary of the region of the heaviest atomic nuclei yet created in the laboratory, data on more than hundred α-decay chains associated with the production of element 115 are combined to investigate time and energy correlations along the observed decay chains. Several of these are analysed using a new method for statistical assessments of lifetimes in sets of decay chains.
متن کاملFive decades of invasion genetics
In 1964, some of the most prominent scientists in the history of ecology and evolutionary biology met on the Pacific coast at Asilomar, California to discuss the genetics of colonizing species. Pointed (but polite) exchanges were recorded between ErnstMayr, G. Ledyard Stebbins, E. O. Wilson, Theodosius Dobzhansky, Richard Lewontin, JohnHarper, C.H.Waddington, R.W.Allard, Herbert Baker, and 21 o...
